vbe is not finished

vbe | video build engine is software in development. Screens marked "Early design preview" show how the app is being designed, not a finished product. Features, prices, platforms and dates can change, and some may never ship. Please don't make a decision, such as buying something else or planning work, on the basis that a feature described here will exist on a given date.

AI can get things wrong

vbe uses AI services to plan scenes, make pictures and make voices. AI output can be wrong, out of date, biased, strange, or too close to someone else's work. That is why vbe is built around "AI proposes. vbe validates. You decide." vbe checks what it can and asks for your approval, but the final call on what you publish is yours, and so is the responsibility for it.

Before you publish a video made with vbe, check the facts, the pictures and the words, and make sure you have the right to use everything in it.

Not advice

vbe started as the production system behind rethink normal, a Canadian personal finance channel. Nothing on this website, and nothing vbe makes, is financial, legal, tax or other professional advice. If a video you make covers those subjects, the accuracy of what it says is up to you.

Costs from AI services

When you use vbe with your own accounts at AI services such as OpenAI or ElevenLabs, those services bill you directly. vbe shows an estimate before every step that costs money and waits for your yes, but an estimate is not a bill. The real charge is whatever the service records in your account, and their prices can change without notice to us.

Other companies' names

We sometimes mention other companies and products, such as YouTube, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, or other video tools, to explain what vbe works with or how it compares. Those names belong to their owners. Mentioning them doesn't mean they endorse vbe or that we are connected to them. When we compare vbe with another product, we describe what each one says about itself on the date we checked.

Money and links

vbe is built and paid for by its founder. Today:

• no company pays us to mention or recommend anything;
• none of the links on this website are affiliate links;
• we have no investors.

If any of that changes, we will say so on this page and next to the post or link it affects.

How we use AI ourselves

vbe is an AI video tool, so we use AI tools in our own work, including for some pictures and drafts we share on social media. When a picture shows the app before it is finished, we label it as a preview.
