Building in public News: vbe is coming to Windows as well as MacComing to Windows too

Turn your script into a video, on your computer

You write the words. vbe | video build engine makes the voice, the captions, a plan for every scene and the pictures, then renders the finished video on your computer.

Most script to video tools take your words and hand back a video you had little say in. vbe works the other way round: it does the slow parts for you, but every scene is planned in the open, every paid step shows its price first, and nothing renders from a plan you did not approve.

How it works

  1. Paste your script

Start a new video and paste in what you have written. vbe checks it for anything that would waste a paid step later, then splits it into sections.

  2. See the cost and say yes

vbe plans every scene and shows what the voice and the new pictures will cost. Nothing is spent until you say yes.

  3. Render on your computer

vbe lines a caption up with every word and renders the finished video on your own computer. Rendering costs nothing in AI fees.

See every step.

What you get from one script

  • A voice that reads your script, with the pauses where you put them.
  • Captions on every word, lined up so each word lights up as it is spoken.
  • A plan for every scene: what the picture shows, the words on screen, and the exact word each scene starts on.
  • Pictures in one look, with the same characters looking the same from scene to scene.
  • A finished wide video, rendered on your computer and saved in your own folder.

You see the cost before anything is spent

Writing the plan, making new pictures and a premium voice cost a little each time. Before every one of those steps, vbe shows the price and waits for your yes. A yes covers that step only, so nothing is spent by surprise. Captions and rendering run on your computer and cost nothing.

Made on your computer

vbe is an app for Mac and Windows. Your scripts, pictures and finished videos stay in your own folder on your computer, and nothing you make is used to train AI.

Questions

What kind of script works?

A script written to be read aloud: sentences, paragraphs and pauses. vbe checks it before any paid step and points out anything that would spoil the narration.

How long can the video be?

Short explainers and long videos of ten minutes or more. vbe plans the scenes for the whole script, so a longer script simply has more scenes.

Can I change a scene?

Yes. Every scene is a card with its words, what the picture shows and the picture itself. Changing a scene in plain words, such as "make it evening", is being built for the first release, and it will show the cost of a new picture before making one.
